What Water Approval is Required for Auto Water Faucet in the UK?
We design and manufacture our auto water taps, and they’ve all received WRAS approval. As a manufacturer of auto faucets, we know they are strictly regulated by water approvals in many countries for water safety. It is important to ensure the water faucets are complied with local water approval to enhance public health and also save water resources. The WRAS approval is a way to ensure the water taps are of suitable quality and standard in the UK. Several tests will be conducted during WRAS application, and the design of the product should make sure the water fitting will not cause waste, misuse, undue consumption or contamination of the water supply.
How to apply for WRAS certificate
To apply WRAS for auto water tap, a F2 form needs to be filled in with detailed information about the materials and mechanical design of the product. The form can be downloaded on WRAS official website.
The second step is to find an accredited and WRAS recognised test facility to conduct the required tests. After the tests are done, the test lab will submit the results to WRAS for review and the applicant will receive an approval letter and certificate with the unique listing/approval number and details of the product. The approved water products can also be found on the database of WRAS website. The approval needs to be renewed every 5 years.
